Cajuput trees originate from the Malayalam coastal plains with the scientific name as melaleuca leucadendron. The tree along with being evergreen is 98feet in height with white malleable stalks and twisted warped trunk is therefore sometimes called white tree. The oil is prepared from the steam distillation of the leaves and twigs of the Cajuput tree in hot dry season. Cajuput essential oil is thin rather being sticky and thick has a pale yellow shine with fresh aroma ending with a fruity note. The oil being non toxic and non-sensitizing may not suit people with sensitive skin. However the oil may deal with respiratory problems but it is not advised to inhale it as it may cause breathing problems. Cajuput oil is even not recommended during pregnancy.
Uses Of Cajuput Essential Oil:-

It can be used for vapor therapy for treatment of respiratory problems. By promoting sweat control the oil cools down the body temperature in fever. Also the oil is used in food products to add flavor and in perfumes, deodorants, and soap to fetch fragrance but in very minor quantity.
